| Answer: The reason is simply that Darwin PlantSpotters is brought to you by a Dutch based export company, and most of the plant breeders we deal with on a day-to-day basis are local.
But that doesn't mean it has to stay this way.
As you read through the site you'll also notice the incredible journeys that plants make around the world to get to your garden. This means that we can just as easily gather up a variety originating in New York, Toronto or the Outer Hebrides and give it the Darwin PlantSpotters treatment.
All we need is to hear about hybridisers and new varieties from other places, and Darwin PlantSpotters will fulfill it's mission to be a truly global community.
